I'll be using Paul Blackthorne as his PB because I suck at finding PBs and he already plays the guy in the TV series, sob.
Any differences: Aside from the added hat (don't let the book covers lie, Harry does not have a hat) and the lack of awesome duster, none.

Reincarnated History What happened to your character that got them to this point in their normal, human life?
First Echo: A year before the game itself starts, a friend of Harry's drags him along to play a wizard with their LARP group. The explanation he gets from his friend on how to act (hand on your head means you're out of character, arms crossed over your chest means you're invisible) parallels that of another LARP he attended, though that one went awry quickly and anyway he doesn't remember it.

Harry left the LARP afterwards with a feeling of deja vu, and when he came home, he found a wooden staff with runes carved on it propped up against the wall. For some reason he feels as if it's important, and has taken to carrying it around ever since. He calls it his walking stick.
